San Clemente’s new restaurant on Del Mar has quickly caught many’s attention. An authentic variety of Chinese cuisine is now available in the city’s downtown. The new addition of Min’s Dumplings has impacted the beach town rapidly, with news of a new delicious restaurant spreading throughout San Clemente.
The restaurant recently opened on December 2, 2024. James Zhu is the owner and named the restaurant after his father, Min, who created most of the recipes. Min’s Dumplings has three locations; Yorba Linda, Mission Veijo, and San Clemente.
With its reasonable prices and quick service, Mins Dumplings is an easy and efficient choice. Sophomore at San Clemente High School, Camryn Juncaj, enjoys eating at a similar restaurant commonly known as Din Tai Fung. However eating there can be a hassle with the multiple hour wait time. Camryn looks forward to choosing Min Dumplings instead for an “affordable, accessible, and high quality alternative.”
Min’s Dumplings offers a variety of flavorful options including steamed dumplings that are hand made that can be filled with pork or chicken soup. Plenty of vegan options can fill the dumplings as well, consisting of a mix of cabbage, carrots, noodle, and tofu. Their loaded menu offers pot stickers, pork buns and so much more. There are many sweet options to end a fulfilling meal. Finish off with custard buns or some deep fried mini buns.
The incorporation of Mins Dumplings into San Clemente adds diversity and can bring people together. It is vital for people to experience and appreciate other cultures through food. Student at San Clemente High School, Ashlee Murray, is looking “forward to some more diverse cuisine in [her] community.”
Located on Del Mar, Min’s Dumplings is the perfect spot to stop for food whether out with friends, shopping, or in need of a quick and easy takeout option. A fun day spent at the beach can conclude with a trolley ride to downtown for an appetizing dinner at Min’s Dumplings. Inside the restaurant, a cozy atmosphere welcomes in customers with its friendly service. The open kitchen allows customers to watch the skilled chefs make their food right in front of them, proving their high quality. Min’s Dumplings is open 11:30 am to 8:30pm, making it a great place for any time of the day.
