As each SCHS sport’s team excels through their seasons, ASB holds a Fall Spirit Assembly to celebrate them and shine the “One Town One Team” spirit. This year, ASB decorated and planned the Spirit Assembly under the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle theme. Packed in the main gym, the classes were decked out in colors that represented each turtle. Freshmen wore orange for Michelangelo, sophomores wore blue for Leonardo, juniors wore purple for Donetello, and seniors wore red for Raphael.

One by one, sports teams performed a 1-2 minute mashup dance in coordinating outfits. Senior and ASB Activities Co-Lead Reese Tremper explained how “all the sports teams do their dances” and how she is specifically “really excited to see girls volleyball perform.” Girl’s Varsity Volleyball crushed their routine, receiving endless applause, just like previous years. Another highlight performance was by our Girls Flag Football team. With this only being their second year as a sports team at our school and second year performing in the assembly, the girls did not disappoint. From their colorful jerseys to their sharp dance moves, students couldn’t take their eyes off them.
Senior Noah Santana described the Spirit Assembly as “truly amazing.” As a member of the after school drama department, Santana is one of the cast members who got to perform a cut of “When You’re an Addams,” the opening number to their fall musical, The Addams Family. Playing Gomez, the lead of the show, Santana recalled “the exhilaration from being on stage [as] something that cannot be told in words, but something to be felt.”
Not only are the sports memorable, but so are the class games. In ASB, each class is responsible for coordinating one game and recruiting either teacher or student participants. A crowd favorite this year was the senior game where teachers and students competed to see who could keep their pizza box on their hand the longest. In Assembly B, ending with senior Santana Delcastillo on top of fellow senior Scotty Johnson, the game was nothing short of entertaining.
Alongside the sports team and the best traditional closer to the Spirit Assembly is the Triton Drum line. Playing their famous routine, Triton Drum line single-handedly steals the show every single year. Winning the audience’s praise, Triton Drum line is always a hit. Ending the assembly with them leaves everyone contagiously happy and excited to cheer on sports teams the remainder of the semester. With a big mosh around the Drum line, their performance is always the most thrilling.
From cheers, to dances, to games, to school spirit, the Fall Assembly covered it all and did the perfect job of celebrating our sports teams and shining that “One Town One Team” spirit.
