In the sleepy town of San Clemente, summers are meant to be spent at the down beach playing volleyball, surfing, and eating acai bowls. That doesn’t mean these tasty bowls can’t be enjoyed all year round. Alohana bowls have two locations, one by pines park and their most popular located in the heart of Old Town. Alohana offers a menu with a variety of their most famous acai bowls.
Their outdoor seating makes it a perfect place to sit down and enjoy a delicious bowl or even one of their many drinks. They serve coffee hot or iced, matcha, blended frappes, and teas. All for $5 or less. Now that it’s winter, they have holiday drinks including the peppermint mocha and the pumpkin spice latte.
Alohana is not the only small business that you can support when you stop by one of their two locations. They show
their small-town spirit with many products from all sorts of local businesses. Throughout their shop, they sell beachy art, candles, a variety of fresh coffee grounds, soap bars, and reusable kitchen cloths. All sorts of useful knick-knacks.
According to current employee and student, Carter Ashby, the most popular bowl is the T-Street bowl. It includes a unique thick acai base topped with granola, banana, strawberry, blueberry, coconut, and drizzled with honey. Most of the bowl’s ingredients are organic depending on the availability and time of year.
Sophomore, Kylie Marcisz, claims “Their bowls taste like ice cream.”
Aloha is really something special, with customer service just as good as their food. It’s a must-try. A warning in advance, addiction may occur after just one bite.
