Located in The Courtyards At Talega on Pico, the Thai Palace SC, without a shadow of a doubt, prepares the most delicious pad thai in San Clemente, California. Their infamous dish features rice noodles topped with scrambled egg, bean sprouts, peanuts, and green onions, along with the diner’s choice of protein. All stir-fried in a flavorful tamarind sauce, this mouth-watering meal does not disappoint.
Open since February of 2011, the restaurant serves flavorful and authentic Thai cuisine, as the owner, Don Thaitear, immigrated to the United States from the Bangkok region in central Thailand. Remaining true to their roots, opening a restaurant with his family that served traditional food proved perfect for not only retaining, but sharing their culture in their new community.
Dedicated to preparing authentic fare, they offer a variety of popular dishes from, of course pad thai, to panang curry and pad see ew. They also offer a multitude of vegetarian options, as tofu is one their choices for protein. Their customer service is brilliant, as they are happy to comply with most dietary restrictions.
Their dishes range from 5 to 16 dollars, and open for casual dining, the restaurant’s red and yellow tiled walls and elephant decor provide a welcoming atmosphere. Along with their comforting indoor dining area, a courtyard sits adjacent to the establishment so customers can eat outdoors as well.
With a wide selection of amazing, authentic meals, a warm environment, and a sincere staff that knows their regulars by name, the Thai Palace SC definitely should not be skipped.
