The definition of love is an intense feeling of deep affection for a certain person.
The movie Five Feet Apart was released in 2019. It’s a great option for a romance and drama movie, surrounding the two characters, Stella and Will. The two teenagers have cystic fibrosis, and due to sharing the same illness, aren’t allowed to be in close proximity with each other, required to remain 5 feet apart. The powerful message to be taken away from this brilliant movie: live life to the fullest because you never know what might happen tomorrow.
Stella is 17, she’s never at home, and she spends her daily basis at the hospital due to her disease. Her life is full of lovely people, mostly doctors, nurses, and a few friends she has made during her stay at the hospital. The daily routine of her hospital life is filled with routines, boundaries, and the practice of self-control.
However, since she met Will, her daily routine is shaken and she begins to challenge hospital protocol as she falls in love with him.
Cystic fibrosis is a disease that affects the enzyme cells of a person. A genetic life-threatening disorder that damages the lungs and digestive system, and there is no found cure besides treatment. Unfortunately, treatment may only temporarily ease the symptoms and reduce complications.
The overall purpose of the movie has taught audiences what it is like to love and be loved by someone. Furthermore, it displays a love separated by illness, keeping closeness out of the question.
“It is such a good movie and would be 100% recommended,” said Daniela. “It makes one rethink about our own lives and value even the smallest moments”.
