Rihanna is not taking a bow yet, as she continues to provide her fans with more anticipating performances.
Rihanna can be seen dancing and singing on floating platforms alongside 80 backup dancers dressed as futuristic marshmallows. She herself stunted a bright red jumpsuit and a baby bump! Just recently having her first child in May of last year, Rihanna used the opportunity at the show to reveal her second pregnancy to the world.
Just when we think she has provided the fans with enough back-to-back news to last the next year, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Thursday that Rihanna is set to perform her newest song “Lift Me Up” from Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at the 2023 Oscars. It has a nomination in “Best Original Song,” which is also her first Academy Award nomination. Senior Kate Loo says, “I am so excited for all her new performances now, I am so glad she’s back to singing.” Her and co-writers Tems, Ludwig Goransson, and film’s director Ryan Cooglar are competing against other nominated songs for the award, cluding “Hold my Hand” by Lady Gaga for “Top Gun: Maverick.” Hosted by Late-night’s Jimmy Kimmel and broadcasted in the Dolby Theatre, the 95th annual awards ceremony is set to air live on ABC on Sunday, March 12.
Rihanna has previously been MIA in terms of her music career for a little over 6 years, once she released her makeup company Fenty and devoted most of her efforts managing its great successes. However, she is back and better than ever, her most notable comeback performance on the football field, soloing 2023’s 56th Super Bowl Halftime show as her first live performance done in the last seven years. Junior Sofia Aliman says “I am just happy to finally see her perform after so long.”
Rihanna loves to continue her series of great news, as she herself stunted a bright red jumpsuit and a baby bump! Just recently having her first child in May of last year, Rihanna used the opportunity of her performances to reveal her second pregnancy to the world. Many have noticed that she had left out “Lift Me up” in the lineup of the halftime show, so the news of her performing at the Oscars is not a surprise. Fans of Rihanna as well as those who enjoyed the Black Panther movie look forward to seeing her ease back into the musical spotlight through this performance, and the public seems to not be ready for her impact.
