Season 10 of Love Island, UK version, ends with Jess and Sammy winning £50,000, which equals 63,074.75 USD. This money was made after spending eight weeks inside the villa after countless fights and make-up sessions.

On June 5th, 2023, 5 girls and five boys entered a villa in Majorca, Spain, on a journey looking for love. The singles ranged from ages 19-30 and came from all parts of Europe. Once they entered, the viewers (constantly called “the public”) voted on who they thought would be best suited for each other, creating five original couples. After the couples start to get comfortable with each other, the host, Maya Jama, enters the villa to force the public’s least favorite person to leave. Along the eight weeks, a string of “bombshells,” meaning new hot singles, enter the villa to test the islanders’ loyalty. Once these “bombshells” enter the villa, they get to couple up with someone of their choosing, ultimately breaking up a couple.

A little past halfway through the show, the islanders take on the true test of their couple when they enter Casa Amor. For three days, the girls leave for a separate villa, where a group of new boys meets them, while the boys stay at the original villa with a new group of girls. After three days, the islanders decide whether to stick with their couple or choose a new person they found in Casa Amor. “Casa Amor is always so stressful to watch as a viewer,” said Senior Taylor Juncaj, “because so many couples fail and cheat and ruin their relationship.” Slowly, the cast gets smaller as the public votes people out and only recoups certain couples, leaving four final couples at the finale on July 30, 2023, with the results in the public’s hands.

This season, Love Island drew in 1.3 million viewers every episode. They followed fan favorite Whitney, a comedic star who had everyone laughing with her go-to say, “It’s giving,” making an appearance in almost every episode. Her bubbly personality was too much for Medhi, a crybaby who quickly got voted out but eventually found her match Lochan in Casa Amor.

The fan-favorite couple was Ella and Tyrique. Tyrique came in as a player with no intention of commitment, but through lots of bumps and tests, Ella changed him for the better. “Ty and Ella should have won,” senior Brooklyn Giles claims. “They had the most chemistry compared to any other couple in the show.”

After leaving the villa, most relationships have ended with cheating scandals, and only a few have stayed strong. We are excited to see how the final couples work in the real world.
