With almost a hundred clubs at San Clemente High School, Best Buddies stands out as a cornerstone of San Clemente High School club culture. With strong leaders and buddies, the club hosts meetings every Monday at lunch and seasonally plans holiday parties and events. For example, leaders of Best Buddies planned a successful Halloween party back in October and they have plans to visit SeaWorld with the buddies moving into the second semester. With several new events on the horizon and the continuation of old club traditions, Best Buddies continues to be one of the most interactive and interesting clubs on the SCHS campus.

As it has gained such an established name on campus, it is time to know some of the specific names and faces behind this important club.

Co-president of Best Buddies, senior Kalista Hall, joined the program freshman year and “continued applying every year because [she] enjoyed meeting people with such different experiences and learning about others,” she stated. While being close with every buddy, Hall spends the most time “hanging out with Ben, Jemena, and Kevin.” Continuing on the tradition of all of her siblings who have participated in Best Buddies, Kali is most looking forward to planning and attending the Best Buddies Prom.

Additionally, senior Prairie Brunson has been an active member since his sophomore year and is the current photographer. He is looking forward to spending time with his buddy, Audrey, and participating in all of the fun activities the club has to offer. He already attended the Halloween party this year and recounted how “it was so great to see everyone dress up and come together to celebrate.”

The officers of Best Buddies also include Travis Goodwin, Emma Lockwood, Marcos Duzman, Kaia Miyasaki, Kat Piantka, Stella Snyder, Michelle Monier, Grace McAlpin, Finley Raymond, Emry Insley, and Kiana Breshears. Each works diligently to make the club run and coordinate efforts.

For students looking to get involved in campus life, becoming a member of Best Buddies is an interactive and impactful way to do so. Every Monday at lunch, the club hosts meetings in front of the 600 building, so make sure to be there!
