As the semester ends, students become overwhelmed with the stress caused by upcoming finals and tryout season. This past week the after-school drama program hosted its auditions for the spring musical, The Little Mermaid, and Track and Field hosted its tryouts for their upcoming season. In addition to sports and after-school curricula, many students plan to leave early for vacations over the break. With all these conflicting events, the last few weeks of the short fall semester are extremely stressful for all students, particularly the incoming freshmen who are experiencing the chaos of finals for the first time.

The Link Crew Finals Cram Session is an excellent chance for freshmen to calm their nerves and engage in last-minute studying with support from teachers and upperclassmen. Sophomore Evan Potwora reflected on his experience last year when he attended the cram session. Potwora described the event as “an inviting atmosphere with insight from upperclassmen and amazing tutoring from teachers.”

Further, Potwora believed the cram session was “the key reason [he] aced [his] finals.” With the helping hands of teachers and upperclassmen, the cram session provides perfect insight and encouragement to all freshmen.

Additionally, getting enough sleep and properly nourishing your body during finals week is essential. The cram session is hosted from 3:30-5:30 p.m., allowing students to still get in some last-minute studying without stressing or staying up late. Along with the timing, Link Crew provided hot chocolate and popcorn to ensure students were studying on a full stomach, helping them retain more information.
During such a busy week, it is important to stay calm. Freshman Andrew Pollock expressed how he “turns left, and there’s a jumpscare. He turns right, and there’s another jumpscare.” Pollock described his heavy involvement with the after-school drama program and how stressful it has been with auditions and the semester wrapping up.

However, he is confident that with the right time management and preparation, he will crush it. Studying, time management, the right diet, and lots of sleep have proven to be super beneficial and by attending the Link Crew Finals Cram Session, you will surely be prepared to ace all of your finals.

So Tritons, do not forget to join Link Crew for the Finals Cram Session, on Monday, December 16th from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the Triton Center. This great opportunity to meet with student tutors and your teachers for any last-minute help is the perfect study tactic.
