This year’s Super Bowl matchup seems all too familiar to NFL fans. The Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face off in an epic showdown. The two starting quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs) and Tom Brady (Buccaneers) are actually the last two quarterbacks to win a Super Bowl championship.
The Chiefs absolutely dominated all year finishing the season with a 14-2 record and earning the top seed in the AFC. With their electric young offense led by Mahomes, WR Tyreek Hill, and TE Travis Kelce, they are virtually unstoppable. With so many weapons on that side of the ball their star powered defense often gets overlooked even though it has with no doubt won them many games this year.
The Buccaneers turned all of their troubles around this year by signing arguably the greatest player ever in Brady. Through his fierce leadership and ridiculous ability to somehow always win, the 43-year-old was able to bring his new team to his 10th Super Bowl. To help though, Brady was surrounded by young talented players that came together under the future Hall of Famer and finally played together as a team earning a 11-5 record on the season.
The game is currently a three point spread in favor of Kansas City so it really could go any way. However, it seems most people think they know who is going to win. “I got the Kansas City Chiefs winning the super bowl,” junior Daniel Lo said. “No doubt.” Because of that electric offense many are taking the over on the spread as well, “The Chiefs will win the super bowl,” junior Charlie Spaeth said. “31-24.”
With that being said, I predict the Buccaneers are going to win. They are the hotter team right now and it shows in their defense. They played out of their minds against the best offense in the NFC, the Green Bay Packers, and shut them down in the freezing Wisconsin cold. Brady is on a mission and it is very important to remember this is basically a home game – for the first time ever, the Super Bowl will be played in one of the teams home stadiums – as it is hosted in Tampa Bay. The crowd of 22,000 people, most definitely going to be cheering for their Buccaneers, will greatly impact the game.
