A quality breakfast burrito is difficult to find. There is indisputably a correct ingredient ratio to be struck, a texture aspect to consider, and many other factors that go into deciding the perfect burrito. But where can locals purchase the best breakfast burrito in San Clemente? This year, one breakfast spot marked every box for our panel of judges: Roses Cafe
Aside from their burritos, Roses is loved across the board for their tasty donuts, bustling atmosphere, and strong coffee. The family-favorite restaurant underwent reconstruction in 2019 after a faulty water heater set its interior ablaze. But customers were eager to return once the damage was fixed.
Much to my own despair, breakfast burritos are underappreciated. They are filling, portable, and a super simple breakfast option. Burritos are good at any time of the day, but eating one in the morning is just special for some reason. And the options at Roses are impeccable.
Customers may choose from 11 different yummy burritos with accessories such as bell peppers, avocado, red potatoes, egg whites, and steak. Most people go with the Classic: a mix of hash browns, cheddar cheese, egg, and either bacon, ham, or sausage.
They are perfect in every way, from the egg: cheese ratio, to the wrapping technique (which creates a “swirl” effect that ensures you will never have a mouthful of plain eggs) to the yellow wrapper (which clearly makes the burrito more delicious via some sort of color sorcery), to the amazing salsa, served on the side for easy dipping.
All in all, if you are in search of a breakfast burrito, look no further than Roses Cafe. You and your tastebuds will surely be satisfied, and I’m confident you’ll become a returning customer.
