In a recent and unexpected announcement from Buckingham Palace, it was revealed that King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer. This news has sent ripples of concern across the globe, eliciting messages of support and sympathy from world leaders and citizens alike. The diagnosis comes less than two years into his reign, introducing a challenging chapter not only for the King himself but also for the British monarchy.

“It feels like just yesterday that Queen Elizabeth died,” said junior Julia Sipelis. “It’s really sad that London is being faced with another tragedy so soon after the Queen’s passing.”

According to official statements, King Charles, age 75, is currently undergoing outpatient treatment in London for a form of cancer that was discovered following tests last month. The specific type of cancer has not been disclosed, maintaining the royal family’s preference for privacy on personal health matters. This discretion has not dampened the wave of public empathy, however, with figures such as President Biden and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak expressing their well-wishes for the King’s swift recovery.

In his absence, Queen Camilla is set to carry out a full program of official engagements, and Prince William, the heir to the throne, will also return to his public duties. This reallocation of responsibilities within the royal family highlights the monarchy’s robust structure for ensuring continuity and stability, even in times of personal crisis for its members.

With this, teens have taken to social media to share conspiracy theories about the diagnosis. Back in September of 2022, many theorized that the Queen was reincarnated as internet personality Trisha Paytas’s baby, who was born the same day as the Queen’s death. “Trisha’s baby looks more and more like the Queen everyday,” mentioned senior Addie Flynn. Now today, Trisha has announced in recent months that she is pregnant again, leaving many to believe that the King’s diagnosis is the first step for him being reincarnated as Trisha’s second baby.

Though all we can do now is hope King Charles has a speedy recovery and Trisha gives birth to a beautiful, not reincarnated, baby.
