As Homecoming approaches quickly, many beloved traditions unravel, one of them being the announcement of the top 15 boy and girl nominations for the Homecoming court. The senior class votes on their top 20 picks for the Homecoming court. However, with a tie between several boys for the 15th spot, ASB announced 14 boys this year.

Every year, the senior class girls announce the boys and the senior class boys announce the girls. Decked out in matching costumes, pairs strut down the red carpet with a rose to announce a nominee with a mini poem.

After the top 15 is announced, a link is posted for the whole school to pick their top 5 boys and girls out of the 30 nominees, or this year, 29. With a guaranteed ride down Del Mar in a convertible during the annual Homecoming Parade, and a spotlight during the Homecoming football game on the field during half time with their loved ones, top 15 is very sought after.

The Top 15 girls are as follows:

Sophia Annaloro, Jenny Cook, Catalina Downer, Kendall Fish, Emmi Franklin, Stella Gabriel, Alia McNeill, Grayson Morgan, Havyn Nekritz, Dylan Nelson, Marie Root, Kirra Schmitt, Chloe Smith, Georgia Stay, and Molly Whidden.

Nominated senior, Kendall Fish, described how “excited [she is] to be on the top 15 court with some of [her] best friends.” As a member of ASB, Fish is heavily involved in school events, always bringing a good time. So many people voted for her because of her kindness and humor. Fish also added how being nominated felt like a good way to “finish [her] last year of high school strong.”

The Top 14 boys are as follows:

Nominated senior Santana DelCastillo explained how the “tradition of the Top 15 is exciting for everyone and getting to dress up and announce others shows the ‘One Town, One Team’ spirit.” As a member of ASB, DelCastillo is involved with the behind-the-scenes and gets to bring the magic to life for many.

Filled with so many good nominees, anticipation for the upcoming Homecoming Court awaits! Be on the lookout for @sanclementehighschool’s Instagram post, announcing when voting for the Top 5 opens.
