Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21):
The holiday season is among us, and you know what that means…you’re going to have to spend some money! And you know what that means, right? You’re going to have to get that money first. That means working which involves time and energy. This can be a major drag if you don’t love your work. So, what to do? Well, I suggest that you go to town. Literally! Our town is bound to have a job that interests you and makes you excited to go to work. There is so much variety and opportunity out there just waiting for you to take advantage of. Go online and search job opportunities in your area and who knows, maybe you’ll find something that you truly enjoy that also brings in the bucks 😉 It could be a “win win” situation so be proactive and quit spending your parents’ money!

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19):
Try out a new restaurant or a new place to hang out this month. Sometimes, changing up your scenery can make a big difference in your clarity of thought and your overall productivity and quality of work. You might even meet your new best friend or find your new favorite hangout spot! Take the time to explore the world around you, and take notice of how different environments affect your mood and which environments you feel the best in. This is just a suggestion, but rather than sit at home feeling bored, drive or ride your bike around town and try out some coffee shop you’ve never been to before or just simply go window shopping! Fight feeling bored, and take action!

Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18):
I know not everybody loves sports, but doing something active doesn’t mean you have to play a sport. San Clemente has awesome hiking trails and is known for its beautiful weather, even in the winter. So take advantage of where you live, and go on an adventure! Take a friend and make a day of it. There is so much in our little town to discover and explore so get up and get moving! You know you’ll regret sitting at home all break long when it comes time to go back to school in January.

Pisces (Feb. 19 – Mar. 2o):
Speak up for what you believe in this month, even if you’re in the minority. I know this is easier said than done but sometimes you must feel uncomfortable to get people to really think about what they’re saying and realize it’s not right and may even be degrading or discriminatory. A lot of the time, people don’t recognize that they are contributing to societal wrongdoing. Don’t stay silent in the face of wrongdoing! Speaking up takes courage and leads to change for the better – gradually but surely. Use your voice and your actions for the sake of progress and leadership. Change can happen one person at a time.

Take time to appreciate the little things in life that make you happy. Whether that is the adorable way your dog greets you when you come through the door or playing your favorite board game with your family, you must admit that the little things add up and most often become some of your favorite memories. Appreciate your life for what it is and be grateful for the moments that bring you joy. The little things in life are oftentimes overlooked, an unfortunate reality as they are much more common than the big things.

Take an all out winter day! I know what you’re thinking…Winter in San Clemente? Well, yes! There are a couple of ice skating places around here, so if it’s raining have some fun and splash in some puddles. Let your inner child loose, and get into the winter spirit! Just because we live in Southern California doesn’t mean we can’t make the best of what we have. All of the lights on the houses and around the trees are so pretty. Do a great job of ringing in the holiday spirit and I don’t know about you, but seeing all of the festivities and celebrations that take place here in San Clemente in the winter time never fail to bring a smile to my face. So break of the hot cocoa and light up the fireplace and don’t forget to blast some holiday tunes while the time is right 🙂

The stars are aligned, and they are telling me that a series of great hair days are in your immediate future. Don’t mind the haters and their dirty looks. They are just jealous of your magnificent mane. Be as arrogant and pompous as you want! Your funny bone is acting up this month, Cancer! Not only will people be drawn to you for your humor…you’ll even crack yourself up. The stars are telling me to challenge you this month not to, for any reason, hold in your contagious laugh or restrain from telling any joke that comes to your mind. I don’t know if this is the best idea, but the stars’ alignment is telling me otherwise. So don’t hold anything back. Just let yourself be a free spirit! You might not know this but your hilarious little remarks and amazing laugh can really make someone’s day. Not only will you be on your way to carving out an awesome six-pack from all the laughing, but others will also benefit from you just being you – no filters needed.

Be gentle with yourself over winter break this year. After all it’s called a break for a reason. Remember this, you are you, and that is an amazing thing! Nobody looks, talks, or thinks exactly like you, and that is the beauty of being an individual! Don’t be afraid to be messy sometimes because whether you like it or not life is messy. Oftentimes spontaneity and making mistakes is good practice for when life does get really messy. Learn to cope with the messiness, and your future self with thank you!

Have you noticed you’ve been second guessing yourself lately? Well, I’m here to tell you – go with your gut and be confident in your decision making. I’ve always wondered why this is usually the case and why we contradict ourselves so much when we should be trusting ourselves instead. You have great insight and skills when it comes down to making decisions due to your ability to break things down and look at them one piece at a time. Keep doing this, and trust yourself that you know what you’re doing because you really do.

Libra (Sept. 23 – Oct. 22):
It’s almost time to ring in the new year, and you know what that means…New Year’s resolutions! This past year was a big one for you in many ways, and it has left you in a place where you have many new choices and opportunities.
The better the goals you make for 2015, the better off you’ll be; more importantly the better off you’ll feel. When you are coming up with your resolutions, think about where you see yourself a year from now and how you can get there.
This may seem incredibly daunting and you might not even know where to begin or even have an image of yourself a year from now. Still, just keep these things in mind so that you can look back and say “wow, all of those moments of insane courage and commitment have really added up.” You are capable of accomplishing your goals and aspirations.

Formal is coming up and let’s face it. You’re nervous! Whether you’re the one asking or the one being asked, there are expectations that are not usually talked about on both sides. It’s normal and totally okay to have these uncomfortable feelings. In fact, it is part of the high school experience! You are such a likeable person in the eyes of so many people that I can assure you that you have nothing to worry about. In fact, you should feel excited! School dances are things you can look back on and reminisce about decades from now and laugh at yourself for how nervous you were. Maybe even your kids will look back on this time in your life and say sarcastically “nice outfit!” So don’t forget to take some pictures for future reference 🙂
