On January 8, Morgan Wallen released Dangerous: The Double Album—which has thirty outstanding country songs. There are two different sides to the album with fifteen songs on each side to mimic a vinyl record. Morgan Wallen has been actively releasing singles throughout his career, but he has only released one other album, titled If I Know Me, back in 2018.
Dangerous: The Double Album has received great feedback from his fans as it currently holds eighteen spots in the top 100 songs chart. Currently, Wallen occupies more spots in the top 100 than any other artist within the past month. “The album is one of my favorite country albums I have ever listened to,” senior Aidan Giacobello said. “It’s an album I can play on shuffle for hours upon hours.”
Wallen sings about love, past relationships, good friends, drinking, and the country lifestyle in a very relaxed and melodic form of country music. While there are some songs that have the traditional country sound, many sound like a mix between pop and country music. Just like there are two different sides to the album, there are two different sounds; one resembles a more “redneck” type of country and the other is a more relaxed type of country music.
From the first side of the album, my five favorite songs are “Somebody’s Problem,” “More Surprised Than Me,” “865,” “More Than My Hometown,” and “Wonderin’ Bout The Wind.” From the second side of the album, my favorites are “Dangerous,” “This Bar,” “Need A Boat,” “Silverado For Sale,” and “Heartless.”
“There are so many good songs in the album,” senior Makena Viera said. “Right now though, I would say my favorite is ‘More Than My Hometown.’”
Dangerous: The Double Album can be found on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube if you are interested in listening.
