Have you ever been craving the delicious flavors of Thai food but don’t know where to go? Well, look no further and make your way to Mongkut Thai!
Located in the heart of downtown San Clemente, this family-owned restaurant offers a variety of dishes and flavors that will satisfy everyone’s taste buds. They are open from 11:30 am- 2:30 pm and 5-9 pm — plenty of time to try their delicious food.
Their extensive menu (including an entire Vegetarian section!) took my family and me about 15 minutes to decide on what we wanted since there were so many options. If there is one thing to order for sure, it is definitely the curry. Every bite of the yellow chicken curry was perfectly seasoned and had juicy, tender chicken slices on top. And what better way to wash it down than with a glass of iced Thai milk tea? This fresh drink was the best Thai tea we tasted in San Clemente. It was the perfect balance of sweet, yet rich Thai flavor.
Another favorite of mine on the menu was the wide selection of noodles. Specifically, the Beef Pad See-Iw. This dish has the perfect balance of savory and sweet that only adds to the piquancy of the entire meal.
The comforting ambiance of the restaurant adds to the joyous feeling customers have here. With the traditional Thai decorations and aesthetic dining room, eating here turns into an experience — an experience that you don’t want to miss out on!
