First premiering on October 2, 2016, the newest HBO television series Westworld has now aired three episodes, each with more thrill and suspense than the last, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats, anxiously anticipating the coming episodes each Sunday night.

HBO, the television network credited for creating award winning series such as Game of Thrones and The Sopranos, has ambitiously taken on the genre of science fiction with Westworld.

The series portrays a high-end amusement park designed to place guests inside a replication of the Wild West, but experiences problems when the seemingly human robots, used to imitate typical western characters, malfunction and gain a mind of their own. This jewel of an idea that is Westworld didn’t simply pop out of nowhere. The HBO series is based off of the 1973 classic film of the same name, Westworld, which saw amazing success at the original box office and garnered a fan base with nothing but love and respect for the franchise. These fans are sure to be impressed with the new television series which implements all the original elements along with some new ideas which add even more mystery and excitement.

Although it has only aired the first three episodes out of the planned ten, Westworld has been praised by critics, receiving high reviews from websites such as IMDB as well as Rotten Tomatoes. Westworld has reaffirmed what remakes should be about, playing off of the greatness of the original yet respecting it. Knowing HBO, the seasoned producers creating Westworld, as well as the amazing cast, Westworld seems very unlikely to disappoint and perhaps even be picked up for a second season.
