DESTRUCTION: The doors of Thai Palace shattered         /Cassandra Naima

On Sunday, January 22nd, three restaurants in Talega were victims of destructive robberies. The robberies occurred late at night in the Courtyards of Talega. Burglaries shattered the glass doors of Zpizza and Thai palace, breaking in to steal money from the restaurants. Luckily, Wowpoke did not receive any damage to their doors, but the burglars still managed to rob them.

“I was so surprised when I heard they were robbed!” said senior and Talega resident, Courtney Coulson. “The neighborhood has always seemed so peaceful.”

At the moment, it is unknown how much was stolen from these establishments. Most restaurants remove the money from the register at the end of the day, so the quantity of money or supplies that they took is uncertain. However, the destruction of the property alone is already a big cost for these businesses.

Security cameras captured the robbers, however, they were masked and therefore unidentifiable. The police were at the location Monday morning checking for prints, and other investigative clues that may help identify the burglars. This investigation is still ongoing.

It is important that we give these restaurants our support. “I love eating at Thai Palace and I’m so sad that they got broken into,” said senior Emma Fann. “The employees are so nice!”

If you can, I encourage you to purchase some food at these establishments to display our strength as a community and help them get through this time of trouble.
