Rocket fizz is one of the most obvious choices for best candy in San Clemente. Rocket fizz is one of the most recognized assets of downtown Del Mar and is enjoyable by all age groups. Not only does it have the most diverse range of flavors, taffy, candies, and sodas, but walking in the store is a special experience. Walking in the store, feels as if the whole world is at your fingertips to find a delicious treat. This store can invoke feelings of nostalgia through candies from the good old days, excitement of multiple options, and at times bravery when trying new things.
“I really love the unique flavors they have and all the different selections of candy from all around the world,” senior Asher Gardiner said. “It helps remind me of my home and childhood in New Zealand.” Rocket fizz contains a variety of candies that can be from all around the world as well as candies sold from the past.
The longer you stay in the shop the more hidden gems can be found. Besides candies and sodas there are special knick-knacks, toys, comedic metal signs, nostalgic posters and animal head masks.
Vibrant colors everywhere and inviting windows creates a welcoming environment for those walking down Del Mar street. Strolling down the street, anyone can be drawn even with a short glimpse at the window.
“Every time I’m on Del Mar with my friends, the outside window draws me into the store,” sophomore Sidney Foster said. “Then I always love to explore and find new things all around the shop.”
Walking into the shop there already is so much going on with all the signs, colors, and sodas popping out at you. It is most definitely a glorifying experience and a special asset to the city of San Clemente.
