We are witnessing the time of Bella Hadid becoming the biggest supermodel of our generation. Some may say it’s because she’s a nepotism baby or her talent, or the way she separates herself from her occupation, there is no denying she is powerful.
Bella Hadid: The daughter of former model and American television personality, Yolanda Hadid, and luxury real-estate developer in Beverly Hills, Mohamed Hadid. Along with powerful parents, her older sister, Gigi, is also the sixth-highest-paid model. It’s no secret the 26-year-old has had some stepping-stones in place for her, but there are undoubtedly more factors to her success than her family.
Senior Emma Fann explained that although she had many connections becoming a star, “[h]er mom let her get a nose job when she was 14, and promoted bad eating habits, obsessing over appearance in a potentially dangerous way.”
In the public eye, Hadid appears personable, relatable, and honest. Being an equestrian, supermodel, cook, reformer, and social media personality, Hadid bonds with those looking up to her, separating herself from most.
Along with speaking up about global issues, Hadid is also vocal about her mental health, helping to destigmatize and normalize it for those struggling with the same thing. As she entered the fashion industry, Hadid’s struggles with anxiety, depression, and dissociation rose.
Throughout the past decade, Hadid’s career grew quickly and successfully. At just 20 years old, Hadid was awarded, “Model of the Year”, along with making 27 Vogue cover appearances internationally.
During 2022 Paris Fashion Week, Hadid closed French designer Coperni’s Spring-Summer 2023 show with the appearance of a dress sprayed on for display. In nearly ten minutes, she went from standing in front of an audience nearly nude to having a designer dress. Creating the seemingly impossible, Coperni’s team extended the limits of fashion and technology.
Similar to most people on social media, senior Nate Clark saw the dress and asked the question we all were wondering; “Is she the one who should be getting popularity over the dress or should we be applauding the artist?”
Recently deemed, “the most beautiful woman in the world according to science”, it seems Hadid chose the right career path.
