The quaint yet modern market sits on the corner of El Camino Real and San Luis Rey—a much-needed tasty food establishment on the South side of town. On their special deal days, one can find a line all the way out the door of this local grocery outlet, but with Primo’s impeccable customer service the wait time flies right by in just a few minutes.

Their taco meat choices vary in a wide array of flavors, some of the most popular including; carne asada, pollo asada, carnitas, and birria. Primo’s authentic atmosphere even offers some culturally ambiguous meats like cabeza (head meat) and buche (pork stomach). Their taco types offer variety from the most finicky eaters to the adventurous carnivores.

Primo’s tacos are crafted like the traditional street-style tacos of Mexico. The employees load up two warmed, small corn tortillas with a generous helping of the juicy meat of your choice, topped with a sprinkle of palette-biting cilantro and onion. All orders come served with a side of fresh, juicy limes and blended red and green salsas to enhance the flavor of your tacos.

One of Primo’s new avid fans, Junior Kendall Hood, gushes her love for the taco stop “Primo is what San Clemente has needed, I’m there almost every Tuesday!”

If you are craving an authentic Mexican taco that won’t break the bank, Primo is the place to go!
