Din Tai Fung, a Chinese restaurant created by Mr. Bing-Yi Yang when he immigrated to Taiwan from China in 1927, he started the first Din Tai Fung just serving the Xiao Long Baosteamed pork soup dumplings. These are now their most popular item on the menu.

Din Tai Fung has spread across 13 countries, has 170 restaurants, and has been awarded the Michelin Star 5 times. Sophomore, Gracie Mcalpin explained that “[she] likes Din Tia Fung because it can casual or fancy, and it’s a perfect place for an event or get together”.

XIAO LONG BAO: famous dish and well deserved of the hype it receives. Sienna Taus

My friends and I decided to go dine at the Din Tai Fung and try the famous Xiao Long Baosteamed pork soup dumplings. Junior, Claire Pham says “[her] favorite dish is the Xiao Long Bao and that [she] would recommended them to anyone”. Which after I tried them, I think they live up to the hype and they exceeded all my expectations. I would rate this dish a 10/10 and would say it’s a must when I go back to Din Tai Fung.

We all got green tea with boba in different flavors (mango, passion fruit, peach). I would rate the boba a 8.7/10, and think it pairs well with the food.

We ordered 2 servings of the Chicken Spicy Wontons and these were not my personal favorite, but my friends really enjoyed them. I would rate these an 8/10.

We tried the Sweet & Sour Pork Baby Back Ribs and were surprised by how small the pieces of ribs were, but they were delicious and we had to order another service later because we liked them so much. I would rate this dish a 9/10.

The Vegetable & Kurbuta Pork Bun were an interesting new dish for me. I think I would like these buns a lot more if they had a different filling. I would rate this dish a 7/10 and try the pork buns next time I go to Din Tai Fung.

We also had the Chicken Fried Rice and the String Beans with Garlic, which were both good options. But the fried rice was a bit bland and slightly overpriced. The green beans were the perfect balance of salty and sweet and I would rate them a 8.9/10.

All of the options on the menu will satisfy the customer, so feel free to order anything.

The chocolate Buns are a great way to end the night. The creamy, soft, fluffy bun will be enough for people to want to return for their next meal. I would rate these a 10/10.

Din Tai Fung is a wonderful experience that serves delicious and authentic Chinese food. If you live close enough to Din Tai Fung, I would recommend going out with your family or a few friends. If you don’t have a local Din Tai Fung restaurant, the next time you plan a trip you might want to consider where these restaurants are located for your next vacation location.
