Social Media star Emma Chamberlain’s recent breakup with her boyfriend of two years, Peter McPoland, has sparked an influx of rumors surrounding the potential of her and singer Tucker Pillsbury–who many know as Role Model–getting back together.
The two soft-launched their relationship back in 2022 with the music video of “neverletyougo,” a song featured in Role Model’s debut album. Though they kept much of their relationship private, the crumbs that were shared online left fans obsessed. Their sarcastic personalities seemed to be a perfect match.
Their breakup came as a huge surprise in late 2023 after the two had been together for around 3 years (they had met before launching to the public). According to Tucker, spending time with Emma in Los Angeles made him homesick, causing their split.
In July of 2024, Role Model released his second album entitled Kansas Anymore, dedicated to his breakup with Emma. The title serves as a reference to The Wizard of Oz, comparing his own homesick feelings to Dorothy’s. This album’s success skyrocketed his popularity and left fans wondering whether or not he still was in love.

Tucker toured this album globally while Emma explored a relationship with another singer/songwriter Peter McPoland. Poetically, Emma and Peter split just as Tucker’s tour came to an end. On his last show, Tucker changed the lyrics of one of his songs that questioned lingering feelings of love from “I don’t think I’ll ever be so sure” to “I’m sure,” dispelling any theories of his and Emma’s potential reunion. Sophomore at SCHS, Simone Griffin, attended this very show in Paris and commented on how “surprised [she] was to hear the different lyrics.”
Just as fans believed their story to be officially over, Emma appeared on Owen Thiele’s podcast “In Your Dreams” and teased the idea that he still crosses her mind. To promote the episode, Thiele posted a TikTok video showing Emma dancing to Tucker’s song “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out,” referring to a tradition at his concerts in which he selects a member from the audience (nicknamed Sally) to perform on stage with him.
Fans took Emma’s participation as a sign that things aren’t necessarily over between her and Tucker and are eager to see if the two decide to give each other a second chance. SCHS Junior Ryan Cuenca shared that she hopes to see her “favorite online couple” find their way back to one another.
