Poke lovers are you ready for the best Poke in San Clemente! This Hawaiian salad made from cubed pieces of raw seafood marinated with soy sauce and sesame oil and mixed with onions or other ingredients will give you the cravings. The most popular kind of poke is Spicy Tuna and Ahi Poke. Junior Jenna Fomenko said it is “a total hidden gem that has quality poke.”

The Triton Times team voted on the best Poke in San Clemente. Kawamata was voted the best poke with runner ups Poke Tiki and Poke 808. With a great variety of poke, salads, and sushi, Kawamata has something for everyone. Junior Rachel Hartnett says “I’m not a big fan of fish so I get the California bowl (has crab) with white rice and spicy mayo and masago–I HIGHLY recommend it!”

Located right off of Estrella in the center just across from Sprouts, Kawamata is quick place to swing by and grab some poke. The restaurant has no seating inside since it’s a small place with standing room only, but there is space with tables outside. Outside you enjoy a peek a boo ocean view. Kawamata is simple, quick and delicious.
