Agreeing on a place to eat is never easy, especially when it’s early in the morning. But to every San Clemente local, there’s one location in particular that comes to mind, making this decision a whole lot easier. Bagel Shack!
Despite the endless breakfast options that San Clemente provides us with, at the end of the day, bagels are of the highest priority. But what’s even more interesting is that it’s not just the bagels that are in such high demand, it’s also the atmosphere in which it holds.
Bagel Shack is a small cafe located on the south side of San Clemente. Of what seems to be the centerfold of breakfast, Bagel Shack is single-handedly the most successful, self-made, food business in San Clemente. Not only that, it’s notorious for the nostalgia that it brings its customers. The majority of the students attending San Clemente High School refer to Bagel Shack as a ‘shack of memories,’ depicting its importance to the community. It offers unending varieties of diverse bagels as well as seasonal coffees, teas, juices, and even sandwiches.
It’s one of those places where every time you go, you’re guaranteed to see someone you know; no matter what time of the day. The shack houses up to 20+ employees, but despite the large staff they still manage to welcome each and every customer as if their own family.
Apart from the kindness that Bagel Shack’s employees bestow, what’s most welcoming of all is not just the shack itself, but the delicious bagels that it supplies. Fresh off the rack the bagels are toasted to your personal liking, smeared in the creamiest cheese, and eventually sent off to the hands of their beloved customers.
“Bagel Shack has a special place in everyone’s hearts. After a long and rough night, it’s the perfect way to start off my morning,” said junior Sofia Williams.
