One thing that  everyone loves in San Clemente is Mexican food.

And, as a result, you can always expect for more Mexican restaurants to pop up around town in the hopes of hitting it big with the locals and establishing themselves as a permanent art of San Clemente’s ever growing culture.

It seems that another restaurant is paving the way for themselves to become a heavy hitter like Pedro’s Tacos or Cafe del Sol: Sancho’s Tacos.

Located south on El Camino Real right next Biggie’s Burgers, Sancho’s Tacos offers a variety of quality Mexican food while also providing a beach town vibe that everyone can enjoy, young and old, San Clementians and non. Taking no time to prepare the food as fast as they can while also providing great customer service, Sancho’s Tacos seems to know what they are doing, having already made several loyal customers in their short amount of time in San Clemente who go there at least once a week. One such customer is Jared Bernier, a junior on San Clemente High School’s surf team who stated, “I first had Sancho’s Tacos when it was catered to party I was at. After that I started going there a lot more and soon I was addicted going there constantly.” Many others too feel the same as Bernier, getting Sancho’s as much as they can.

When I visited, I ordered a burrito with carne asada, beans, cheese, and salsa. I was not disappointed. Promising to make my burrito in 10-15 minutes, they took an even shorter amount of  time than that, making it in about seven minutes, and not losing any  of the quality they promised.  Inside, they provided two large booths facing flat screen televisions, which are constantly showing surf or other sporting events.

Most of their seating is outside, but being in San Clemente that does not really affect people all that much. Don’t feel like sitting outdoors? Do not worry because many others who feel the same way have instead used to Door Dash to get their food. Senior Jack Schmid who works for Door Dash said, “Honestly each day there are like two to five orders from people who want Sancho’s Tacos. It has become one of the most popular places for me to go to pick up food for people.”

This new restaurant has quickly become a popular household name for the people of San Clemente, and if it continues to keep on following the path it is on, it will soon to become as common of a name as Pedro’s Tacos is around San Clemente. So next time you are craving Mexican food, check out Sancho’s Tacos and quickly become hooked on the newest Mexican restaurant in San Clemente. You will not be disappointed.
