Prime Energy marketed towards kids

Logan Paul first launched his beverage company, Prime, early last year on January 4, 2022. At the time, Paul’s company featured only one product: a drink similar to Gatorade. This drink rapidly grew in popularity due to Paul’s large social media following, which is comprised mostly of young, impressionable kids. Recently Paul has launched a new product, an energy drink called Prime Energy.

What is the problem with Prime Energy?

Prime Energy comes in a small can, 12 oz., and has a very similar label to the hydration variant. Many kids don’t even realize it’s an energy drink. Mark Guzman, a junior at San Clemente High School who works at a grocery store, was asked if he noticed many kids buying the drink. He answered, “Yes, I’ve seen many kids, and even parents with kids, buy the drink.”

What about the drink makes it so appealing?

For starters, Paul features the new drink across all of his social media platforms. In addition, the drink’s label is bright and the font on the text is bold. Finally, many kids see this and want to try it. 

The one major concern people have is kids consuming too much caffeine without realizing it. Middle-school-aged kids are one of the larger demographics of Paul’s fan base. Most of these people are not mature enough to understand some things must be consumed in moderation. It would not be very hard for a kid to take in too much caffeine.

Prime Energy is a product that poses a risk to the youth. Kids can easily become addicted and dependent on the drink.
